This information is used solely to create and manage your Nyan AI account, sync your settings, and personalize your experience (e.g., calling you by your chosen nickname).
- User Input and Commands: We collect the text and voice commands you give to Nyan AI. This data is necessary to process your requests and generate responses from the AI.
- Third-Party Service API Keys: If you choose to configure custom Large Language Model (LLM) or Text-to-Speech (TTS) providers, you will provide API keys for those services. These keys are stored **exclusively on your local device** using
chrome.storage.local and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Browsing Context: To perform tasks like page analysis (OCR, DOM analysis) and execute commands, Nyan AI requires access to the URL, title, and content of the active web page you are on. This information is processed in real-time to provide context-aware assistance and is not stored long-term on our servers, except when you explicitly save a page's content as a "memory".
- Extension Configuration & Data: Your settings (such as selected role, active Nyan-Cards, and Nyan-Potion balance) are synchronized with our Firebase database to provide a consistent experience across your devices.
- Analytics and Error Reporting: We do not use third-party analytics or error reporting tools (like Google Analytics or Sentry) that collect personal data. Any diagnostics we collect are fully anonymized and do not contain personal information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Maintain Core Functionality: To operate the extension, authenticate your account, process your commands, execute tasks, and sync your settings.
- To Personalize Your Experience: To interact with you using your chosen nickname and adapt to your preferences.
- To Connect with Third-Party AI Services: To send your commands to the LLM and TTS providers you have configured, enabling the AI to respond and speak.
- To Improve Our Service: We analyze anonymized and aggregated usage data to understand how our extension is used and identify areas for improvement.
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. We may share data with the following third-party services to provide the extension's functionality:

- Google (for Firebase): We use Google's Firebase platform for user authentication (Google Sign-In) and for storing your extension settings and data in the Realtime Database. Google Privacy Policy.
- Large Language Model (LLM) Providers: When you send a command to Nyan AI, the content of your command is sent to the LLM provider you have selected in the settings (e.g., OpenRouter, Google AI, OpenAI, Groq, DeepSeek). This is essential for generating AI responses.
- Text-to-Speech (TTS) Providers: If you enable the voice feature, the text generated by the LLM is sent to the TTS provider you have configured (e.g., Unreal Speech, or other cloud services) to generate audio.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Cloud Storage: Your account information and extension settings are stored securely on Firebase's servers.
- Local Storage: Sensitive information, such as your API keys for third-party services, is stored only on your local machine using Chrome's secure storage API. It is never uploaded to our servers.
- Security Measures: We use industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS, to protect your data during transmission. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
6. Compliance with Google and Chrome Web Store Policies
Nyan AI's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. User Rights and Data Control
- Access and Control: You can access and modify your extension settings at any time through the extension's popup menu.
- Data Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account and all associated data stored on our Firebase database by contacting us at tomoyoukilai@gmail.com. Upon uninstalling the extension, all data stored locally on your device will be removed.
8. Children's Privacy
Nyan AI is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit data from children under 13 in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information immediately.
